Travel Details

We found out that due to the difficulty of scheduling flights into Haiti, half the group left Sunday night and the remaining 7 left this morning. Keith's travelling companions consist of Dr. Steve Raley, Kevin Steele (a P.A.), Janet Dorrell (water filtration specialist), a nurse, and Heather Bonne and Danny Mulkey, 2 clinic coordinators who are on staff at Antioch. They drove to Killeen and caught a flight to Miami. They are spending the night at the Fairfield Inn (not on the floor in the airport, PTL), and they will drive to Ft. Lauderdale tomorrow morning and then catch an 11 a.m. chartered jet directly into Port au Prince. That's a lot better than a 12 hour bus-ride from the Dominican Republic to PAP.

I got an email from Mick Murray, a member of the other part of the team. He said the first team arrived at the school Monday and when they woke Tuesday, they took cold showers, ate cold oatmeal, and headed to Carre Four, the site of the orphanage featured on Fox News. They were able to treat over 175 people Tuesday, praying for healing for each one. They were able to save one lady who was having a heart attack. Nate Bobbett, one of the team members, accompanied her to the hospital, riding in the back of a pickup truck and holding her IV as they bounced over rough roads. They finished the day with a hot shower and a hot meal. There was a Haitian man giving haircuts to a group of US Special Forces, so many of the guys got a trim as well.

  1. I am so thankful that they can fly directly into Port au Prince instead of having to make the long drive! Thank you for keeping us updated through the blog!
